Sasha Grey Reading To LA Students Causes Stir

Sasha Grey sparked outrage when she read to first and third grade children at a Compton, Calif. elementary school last week. Sasha Grey said she was just trying to help the children, but she's wound up waist deep in drama with a bunch of grown-ups. 

Some parents have filed complaints with the Parent-Teacher Association after a former adult film star said she read to children in a classroom at a Los Angeles County elementary school. "I have a past that some people may not agree with, but it does not define who I am," Grey said in a statement, excerpted by TMZ.

The 23-year-old ex-porn actress who has appeared in mainstream shows like HBO's "Entourage," was a guest earlier this month at Compton's Emerson Elementary School for Read Across America Day. She definitely was invited because of Entourage.

Her work in pornography may or may not be appropriate for first graders, hard to tell, could go either way on that one, but her work on Entourage explains EVERYTHING. KTLA-TV quoted parents questioning whether it was appropriate to have Grey at the school. Parent Dudley Wheaton wondered why the school couldn't find a fireman or a police officer to read to students.

In February 2010, Grey stated in a PETA interview that she supported animal birth control. Sasha Grey identifies as bisexual.
