Star Awards 2012 Winners | Star Awards 2012 Nominees


The annual Star Awards has officially arrived once more. Catch "Star Awards 2012 1" which honours production staff like scriptwriters and backstage crew live on April 22, 7pm, on Channel 8. "Star Awards 2012 Show 2" will be telecast live at 7pm, on April 29, with a special red carpet event at 5.30pm.

Singapore actress Rui En, who was named Best Actress at last year's Star Awards, has received her second Star Awards Best Actress nomination this year, for playing a spoilt 'princess' in the popular drama "A Tale of 2 Cities".

Vying for the Best Supporting Actor award are Rayson Tan ("A Song to Remember"), Brandon Wong ("Love Thy Neighbour) and Cavin Soh ("Love Thy Neighbour") as well as Chen Shu Cheng ("The Oath").

Veteran actor Chen Han Wei, who had won numerous awards in previous years, is also in the running for Best Supporting Actor this year, for his role as the villainous Xu Kun in "A Song to Remember", and will be the man to beat.

The Best Variety Show Host category will see a battle between the 'usual suspects' Bryan Wong ("Renaissance"), Kym Ng ("Chef Apprentice"), Lee Teng ("Rail Thrill"), Mark Lee ("It's a Small World II") and Pornsak ("Food Source 2").

Sean Kingston's 1st Red Carpet Appearance Since Jet-Ski Crash

Sean Kingston was all smiles at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards in University City on Sunday after enduring a traumatic recovery from being critically injured in jet-ski crash on May 29.

The 21-year-old Kingston stepped out on the Gibson Amphitheatre's red carpet wearing a bright red vest, white T-shirt, jeans and sparkling gold jewelry. Recently, the Jamaican-American artist opened up about his nearly fatal accident.

The Jamaican-American singer recently opened up to MTV about his near-fatal accident, which occurred over Memorial Day weekend when the watercraft he was driving crashed under a small bridge, injuring him and his passenger. “Teen Choice Awards!.. Here i come!… Swagged out to da max” Sean wrote on his Twitter account earlier in the day.

Sean recently opened up about the near fatal jet skiing accident, and said he was feeling “stronger and better then ever” after hitting the stage for the first time since the accident.
