18-years old Holly Sweeney is the childhood and long-time girlfriend and the two have had an on-and-off relationship, but they’re back on again. McIlroy and Sweeney are childhood sweethearts, however earlier this year the two announced that they were taking a break with their relationship.

Here’s to the sick days tomorrow WOOOOO.” She was just 15 when she was with her friends at the Hollywood Golf Club on that warm day in August 2005 where the famous young golfer from her school was practicing, who she knew by name, but never actually met.

The 22-year-old Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy walked off the 18th green and into the arms of his father, Gerry, who worked three jobs so his only son could pursue his passion. Not even he could have imagined a day like this.

According to The SUN, Holly Sweeney waited for him in the clubhouse and his face lit up as she hugged him, and helped him come to terms with his heartbreak.
