ABC debuted its 2012 midseason schedule on Friday and Courteney Cox's "Cougar Town" was conspicuously missing from the lineup. The 47-year-old, who split from husband David Arquette last year, has starred in three series of Cougar Town -- a story about a divorced woman who dates much younger men.
The Courteney Cox-starring sitcom suffered a blow when ABC announced on Friday that it is cutting the show's order down to 15 episodes from the customary 22. The network’s midseason schedule was released Friday, and Cougar Town was conspicuously absent.
Panicky fans immediately began to speculate the comedy had been axed, but ABC soothed their concerns, tweeting, “Don’t worry #CougarTown fans, the show is coming back next year…we just don’t have the date yet!” As reported by Britain’s Hello! Magazine, the 47-year-old actress said that while she wasn’t dating at the moment, becoming more like her character Jules Cobb was definitely a future possibility.
"Cougar Town" stars Courteney Cox as a wine-loving Florida real estate agent and follows her relationship with her neighbors, son, ex-husband and co-workers. Originally scheduled to premiere its fourth series mid-season for ABC, the show is now absent from the lineup.
